Orthodox Chevra Kadisha

The activities related to Jewish burial are performed by Chevra Kadisha, the Holy Incarnate. The existence of the congregation is already in the 300’s, in the history of Ráv Hamnuna, which can be read in Moed Katan 27 / b. Ráv Hamnuna Talmud, a scholar, was in a city when he was aware of the sound of a salt-blown voice, to the tone with which death was commonly reported. But the sound of the saltfire, Ráv Hamnuna, did not change the people’s behavior as surprises, they continued their work in the fields, where they were. When asked why they did not hurry to the halt and fulfill the “math micva”, the dead micva, which is the most important of all the 613 micva, answered that not because there is a business in the city that has this job .

Chevra Kadisha is the one of the most basic and perhaps most important institution of any Jewish community. In addition to dealing with the deceased and mournful family, this charitable organization was also called upon to assist the poor and the sick.
Once a year, at Zayin Adar (7th of the month Adar), the party gives a festive lunar dinner to the community, commemorating the deceased of the previous year. Our community also has a membership tag.
